HUMAN ERROR NEGLECT/MISUSE UNKNOWN INCIDENT

"Transformers. Starscream, Inferno & Skywarp"

“3 reissue G1 Transformers
INFERNO
SKYWARP
&
STARSCREAM”

“They are all in good condition for their age”

No they’re not, they’re less than 10 years old and already out of their boxes and missing parts. Ok, it doesn’t look like the dog’s chewed them, which is something, but still, good condition?

“They are the 2002 reissue version not copies”

If they were originals a collector may have been interested.
But they’re reissues.
?Unlikely to be interested.

“Inferno is missing the ladder section, Skywarp and Starscream are missing the plane parts and accessories but still look good as robots”

They’re reissues missing parts.
? Good looking robots missing their hands.
Still, I suppose we mustn’t judge like that. Paul McCartney thought Heather Mills was good-looking enough to marry, didn’t he?
Obviously, we should all learn from his example.

Stop that, it’s all fun and games until someone loses…oh no, nevermind. As you were.

“A MUST for any serious collector.”

Stop it, you’re only fooling yourself.
They’re toys.
Y’know, for kids.
In this case, quite possibly disappointed kids because they wanted new toys that weren’t missing pieces.

HIJINKS

"Miele Cat & Dog TT2000 (Spare or Repair)"

“The main problem with the hoover is the suction, basically it goes up and down from about 800 watts alternating from full suction to low suction repeatedly.”

It alternates its suction from low to full and back again without you having to do anything? I suspect some people may find that quite a convincing selling point, rather than a fault.
Stick a friendly Henry-style face on it and sell it to pervs as a special hands-free model.
Tch. Some people, no imagination.

"SONY VAIO VGN-BX295VP SCREEN ONLY"

“YOU ARE BIDDING FOR LCD SCREEN OUT OF THE ABOVE USED LAPTOP”

Am I? Oh well, I suppose if I had a Vaio with a broken screen I might.

“SCREEN SIZE: 15″ “

Ok, a quick google search reveals that the VGN-BX295VP was a 15″ model anyway so that was pretty much a given but maybe this way you’ll catch a few mug^H^H^Hsellers with a broken 15″ screen they think this will work with?

“There are four vertical lines on the screen as you can see in the picture.”

Haaaaaang on a minute. So I’d just be replacing a broken screen with (I’m assuming) a slightly-less-broken screen?
Or are they meant to be go-faster stripes?

UNKNOWN INCIDENT

"Samsung E65 E Book Reader Touch Screen Damaged Screen"

“Working Order But has Damaged Screen”

Not really in working order then, is it?
E-books really are so superior to the outdated non-volatile storage medium of paperbacks, aren’t they?

WORKED UNTIL BROKE

"WAS IN MINT CONDITION BEFORE DAMAGE"

toshiba av 42

Also used to be base elements that were forged in the stars. Was, at one more recent stage, raw materials sitting in a factory. Probably spent a few weeks in a Rotterdam container distribution center before being transferred into the Argos supply chain.

Where do you draw the line when it comes to comprehensive descriptions of a product’s former states?

"Altai Datasette tape unit for Commodore"

“Has the following issues:

  • Lid doesn’t open properly
  • Record button broken
  • Counter doesn’t work
  • Plastic has yellowed
  • Doesn’t run properly – probably needs new drive belt”

Trust me on this folks, I had one of these new. Other than the yellowing, it was pretty much the same as that from new, I doubt it will have improved over the years. I don’t think I can even classify this one with good conscience as ‘worked until broke’. It was that poor. I’m certainly not ticking the “Probably fixable” box.
Still, what do you expect from something with “Altai” stamped on it. I’m surprised their delivery lorries even worked and they ever got any into the shops.
Even Saisho and Matsui were better than Altai. Come to think of it, I suspect even Amstrad may have been better, although that’s a tough call to make. May have to get Harry Hill in to adjudicate on that one.

However, for once it’s not too bad, as this seller seems to be aware that it’s a load of tat.

“I’m basically offering this for sale in case someone wants the cable – these can be useful for external hardware projects that need a 5 volt supply, for example. If the buyer only wants the cable, I can unsolder it and chuck the rest of the unit in the bin, which should save a few quid on postage.”

So, there we go, they’re not all lunatics out there. Although if it’s so handy for these fabled “external hardware projects that need a 5 volt supply” you have to wonder why he’s not keeping that part for himself and just throwing the rest away.

"Assorted printers"

“ASSORTED PRINTERS AND BATHROOM SCALES”

Yes, of course. Because those two things go together like, well, a horse and marriage, yes?

“IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE ASK BEFORE BIDDING.”

How about “Why? God why?”

“The ONLY reason I am selling them is due to a move and I am unable to take them with me.”

So sad, having to clear out such treasured possessions.

“The items in this job lot are:

  • 6 x HP Photosmart C4780,
  • 4 x HP Deskjet F2480,
  • 1 x Epson Stylus C44UX,

  • 2 x Salter 9013 bathroom scales,
  • Salter 9050 bathroom scale,
  • 5 x Salter 9003 bathroom scales (still boxed)
  • Terraillon Maya Electronic Kitchen scale”

This person obviously likes to do a lot of printing. And then possibly weighing what they’ve printed.

“BATHROOM SCALES ARE TESTED AND WORKING”

But how many pages per minutes do they do?

“Please note that some of the printers are BARE – this means that there are no cables, ink cartridges, intruction books, operating discs.”

And the scales?

“Likely to be compatible with other models.”

“If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck then its probably a duck”

Looks like someone makes their living selling tat to me.

"Ferrari 355 Vs Porsche 911 Turbo 1995 Group Test"

“Often when purchasing magazines in bulk, a few arrive that have damaged covers. Usually the pages inside are in a good readable condition. As postage and packing will be so much cheaper than for the complete magazine, I thought I’d extract a few and see if anyone will be interested!”

“Type of article: Group Test
Number of Pages: 11 pages, and then 3 pages about the ‘new’ F355 Spider Convertible
Magazine: Top Gear Magazine
Year of Publication: 1995″

So, that’s £4.99 plus £1 p&p for some pages torn out of an old car magazine?
Form an orderly queue, people.

HUMAN ERROR UNKNOWN INCIDENT

"Blackberry Bold 9700 Faulty Look!"

“Faulty blackberry Bold 9700 unlocked, cracked LCD screen, did install a new screen to see if everything worked,”

Oh right, so it’s been repaired then?

“everything did apart from making calls and receiving.”

Oh, so the screen isn’t the only thing that’s broken then?

“So have put the cracked screen back inside.”

So you can have all the fun replacing the screen in order to have a phone that won’t make or recveive calls? Great.

“Phone has had NO water damage, the stripes are all White.”

So, you can rule out water damage as the cause of the fault, but doesn’t change the fact it’s a phone that won’t make or receive calls.
And still has a broken screen.

“Phone shows wear and tear 6/10 condition, has been opened.might have some screws missing.”

Comforting. But the screws it does have have are in 6/10 condition?

“Phone has no signal in UK so will work outside uk.”

Is that how mobile signals work? If I buy one that’s broken abroad it will work here?
